The Statue of Liberty’s green patina tells a story of time and transformation—a beacon for immigrants seeking new beginnings. For the Kim family, that promise became reality in 1979 when they opened Diana Shoes in Chicago. What began as a small storefront grew into Dream Town Shoes and later evolved into SVRN, shaped by the next generation. The oxidized green in SVRN’s identity isn’t just a design choice—it’s a tribute to their journey, a nod to resilience, and a symbol of building something lasting. On September 13, 2024, SVRN opened our second set of doors in San Francisco, carrying that legacy forward. The walls, finished in green oxidized copper, symbolize time’s evolution, embracing change while honoring the past. The material draws a parallel to the corten steel of our Chicago store—both metals transformed by exposure, shaped by their environments, much like SVRN itself. This interplay of materials reflects our journey: a balance between permanence and reinvention, heritage and progression. In celebration of this new chapter, we collaborated with Rick Owens to create an exclusive Jumbo Lace Low Sneak in MouthWash. Featuring an under-ankle height, four silver eyelets, jumbo laces, toe caps, and shark-toothed bumper soles, they embody Rick Owens’ signature design language, bold, subversive, and unmistakable. Crafted from medium-weight full-grain calf leather with a flat, matte finish, the upper is tanned for durability, developing character with wear. More than just a sneaker, this collaboration is a reflection of SVRN’s evolution—our roots, our new space, and the spirit that propels us forward. A tribute to transformation, independence, and the ever-evolving journey ahead.
